EMT finds out that growth has stalled and that staff demand transparency
| 00:00 - 00:03 | Our expansion has been significant. |
| 00:04 - 00:05 | not least due to our succes |
| 00:05 - 00:07 | with the US donors in Washington |
| 00:08 - 00:12 | but due to recent events we are now facing a new situation |
| 00:12 - 00:15 | and our growth is threathened |
| 00:17 - 00:19 | So we destroy Diaspora Programme, HDP.. |
| 00:19 - 00:21 | Fire some staff in HQ and regions and charge Danida |
| 00:24 - 00:26 | SG.. |
| 00:27 - 00:28 | Staff.. |
| 00:31 - 00:33 | Staff are unsatisfied and request transparency |
| 00:34 - 00:36 | about the upcoming lay-offs |
| 00:53 - 00:58 | Everyone who used to work for the Ministry stays in the room |
| 01:13 - 01:15 | We need to look good! |
| 01:15 - 01:17 | Degrowth and angry staff does not look good! |
| 01:18 - 01:23 | If we do not continue to grow, and staff complain, my career plan is threathened |
| 01:25 - 01:28 | I am so close to being considered for a senior UN position |
| 01:29 - 01:31 | I brought you in to make it happen |
| 01:31 - 01:34 | I gave you all the power you never had in the Ministry |
| 01:34 - 01:37 | I have ignored all the complaints against your leadership |
| 01:37 - 01:40 | and gotten rid of the outspoken oldtimers |
| 01:40 - 01:42 | SG, there are still dissidents speaking up |
| 01:42 - 01:46 | Only because you failed to subdue them completely |
| 01:46 - 01:48 | SG, we have done everything to undermine them |
| 01:48 - 01:52 | and now your failure will cost me a D2 position |
| 01:53 - 01:54 | ending like my useless predecessor |
| 01:56 - 01:57 | I had photos taken |
| 01:57 - 02:00 | With the Queen and High Commissioners |
| 02:00 - 02:03 | While you could focus on data and so-called innovation |
| 02:04 - 02:08 | All real responsibility has been delegated to non-managers |
| 02:08 - 02:13 | But now I have to go and look like a fool on TV..like a common NGO SG |
| 02:14 - 02:16 | I spoke at the UN Security Council |
| 02:17 - 02:21 | And now your failure makes me look like the other incompetent NGO hippies |
| 02:27 - 02:29 | Everyone in the Ministry laughed |
| 02:30 - 02:34 | When I told them I was going to an NGO |
| 02:34 - 02:36 | But I had it all figured out |
| 02:41 - 02:42 | 5 years.. |
| 02:43 - 02:47 | Spend 5 years with an NGO and then segue into a high-level position |
| 02:48 - 02:53 | Surround myself with loyal former colleagues and friends |
| 02:54 - 02:56 | I was sure that would be enough |
| 02:56 - 02:59 | Shaping HQ like a mini-ministry without accountabilty |
| 03:00 - 03:02 | But now staff want accountability |
| 03:04 - 03:07 | don't worry, the last outspoken ones will be fire |
| 03:14 - 03:16 | Now, Danida will look to the Red Cross |
| 03:19 - 03:23 | And they don't even have a leadership with Ministry experience |
| 03:25 - 03:26 | It's over |
| 03:31 - 03:33 | The D2 is gone |
| 03:40 - 03:46 | But if staff think we will learn from this, and change course, they are sadly mistaken |
| 03:46 - 03:49 | We will continue as long as we can |
| 03:53 - 03:56 | No transparency |
